She sat there staring out the window, wondering if anything would ever be the same again.in her arms was a small child, not more than seven months old. The beautiful baby girl with her dark skin, chocolate curls and deep brown eyes framed with thick lashes was sleeping. A tiny thumb in her mouth as she dreamed.
She hoped the child’s dreams were as sweet as she was, if only because her life wouldn’t be. That was the trouble with being a teenage mother. Your mistakes affected your child. She had no regrets about keeping Mirari, she had been the best thing to ever happen to her, even if her father wasn’t interested.
Tears slowly filled her eyes, the pain from that experience was still raw and tender. She thought he was her forever, how wrong she’d been. She buried her face into the child and wept silently, taking comfort in Mirari’s gentle breathing
